The oilfield on the Henderson farm was developed in the 1890's shortly after the boom at Sistersville, WV. There were many wells on this farm and the adjoining farms as well as across the river in Ohio, and all along both sides of the river between Marietta, OH and Parkersburg, WV.
Many are still producing oil and gas.
